Google today has officially announced that it has started giving the redesigned play store on devices running on Android. It has already started rolling out for some android phone and tablets running on Android 2.2 and above and would be available on all devices in the next few weeks.
The main page of the Play store consists of categories such as Apps, Games, Movies and Books. It also includes the apps featured by Google and other promotional apps.
The redesigned Play Store provides bigger images and white spaces along with the new Holo design language. Listings as well as the checkout screen look similar to a card. Another feature is that similar themed contents will be grouped together across different sections of the Play Store.
Other features include continous scrolling, showing recommendations as one scrolls down as well as simplified purchase process for quicker checkouts as claimed by Google.
