We already know that Nokia has a product called the EOS internally which will integrate the 41-megapixel camera seen in the Symbian powered PureView 808 in a Windows Phone 8 package. The report indicates that the EOS will be launched in July. However, according to the report, it will be the phablet that will emerge as the flagship and will be the most innovative Nokia device.
The growth of the Windows Phone ecosystem has been slow but steady. Ever since the launch of the Lumia 920, the sales of Windows Phone 8 based hardware have picked up. Obviously, Nokia has also introduced well designed products at cheaper price points to help the cause of the ecosystem, but analysts have been worried about the lack of a 5-inch plus device and this could be rectified later in the year if the report is accurate.
That said, one should note (no-pun intended) that Samsung will launch the third generation of the Galaxy Note in the final quarter of the year, the same time as Nokia World where the Finnish brand normally unveils its flagship products. Additionally, it has been reported that Samsung will up the ante in terms of build quality with the next Note and will dump plastic in exchange for a more sturdy and attractive aluminium build.
