Samsung will indeed using Intel’s Clover Trail+ chipset in one of the versions of its Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 tablets says Reuters. It has also increased the expectations of people about the device that Samsung will showcase on June 20 in London.
Samsung has so far been using ARM Holdings’ technology based Qualcomm processors along with its own processors in its products, but now will also be adding Intel chipset in its Android-based mobile devices. This is not the first time Samsung would be using Intel SoC as the mobile device giant has used Intel chipsets in its Microsoft Windows based ATIV tablets, which too will be showcased at the event. This will be a big victory for Intel which has recently confessed to have ignored the mobile device market and thus lagged behind its competitors in the mobile chipset market. Intel is now trying hard to gain momentum in the mobile device segment and has recently set up a new team to focus on this segment.
