Rumors are rife that Apple is working on an affordable variant of the iPhone. And even though CEO Tim Cook has denied any such iPhone under production, another set of alleged pictures of an affordable iPhone has added fuel to this rumor. The gsmarena tripped over some images on Chinese social network Sina Weibo and is reporting about these purported pictures of entry level iPhone, which unlike its predecessors dons a glossy polycarbonate body as being reported earlier.
The entry level version of the iPhone as seen in the picture comes with a rather curved back which was also seen on the entry level MacBook. The image also hints at a 3.5mm audio jack, lightning port and a speaker on the entry level iPhone. Though the phone in the images does not come painted in colors, this rumored model is expected to feature an array of interesting colors like Gold-Orange, White, Gray, Pink, Green, Blue and Yellow-Orange, as were seen on a few models of earlier generation of iPods.
Also, so far it has been speculated that the phone will come with a 3.5-inch display, an A5 chipset as seen on iPhone 4S and a 5-megapixel rear snapper. It is also being speculated that Apple has chosen Pegatron over Foxconn to manufacture this cheaper iPhone. We are hoping for more of information leak in days to come as the phone has earlier been reported to go in to production in July.
