After so many rumors of a rugged S4, the electronics giant today has finally announced the Galaxy S4 Active. The company will be launching it on June 20.
Specs wise, the Galaxy S4 Active features a 5-inch HD TFT display with a PPI count of 443 and also comes with the Samsung Glove technology that enables one to use the screen even while wearing gloves. The smartphone is powered by a 1.9GHz quad-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. Other features included on the device are an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 2-megapixel secondary camera, 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card and a 2,600mAh battery.
On the connectivity front, the device supports 3G and includes features like Wi-Fi ac, Wi-Fi Direct, IrDA, NFC, USB 2.0, and Bluetooth 4.0. While on the software front, the phone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, layered with Samsung’s own Touch-Wiz Nature UX interface and comes pre-loaded with Samsung unique software previously seen on the Galaxy S4 like S Travel, S Translator, Group Play, Samsung Smart Pause, Air View and Air Gesture among others.
The main USP of the phone is that being dust and water resistant, it will survive well in the wild and also lets one to capture photos in the water through an Aqua mode.
