Purported photos and specifications of the LG Optimus G2 surface online

Just yesterday we reported
about LG’s alleged plans to
launch the Optimus G2 at an
event in New York on August 7.
Now, to give that rumor more
weight, the folks at TechTastic
have posted a set of real-life
photos of the Optimus G2 and
also confirm through a source
that it will indeed be unveiled
on August 7.

The photo shows the Optimus
G2’s 5.5-inch 1080p edge-to-
edge display and is also said to
have buttons on the back of
the device as the edges are so
thin that LG couldn’t fit any
buttons on the side. The other
interesting bit on the device is
that the Optimus G2 will be
the first device to be powered
by the latest Snapdragon 800
SoC, as confirmed by LG and
Qualcomm earlier this week.

In addition to the above, the
device is also said to feature
2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear
camera, a built-in IR Blaster
and run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly
Bean wrapped under LG’s UI.
The TechTastic report further
reveals that the Optimus G2
won’t be the only device to take
stage on August 7 and LG will
also be unveiling two new
devices– LG Optimus L9 II
(codename: LG-D600) and the
LG-D500. The former is said to
sport a 4.7-inch 720p display,
Snapdragon 400 processor and
an 8-megapixel camera, while
the latter is an entry-level
device with a 960×540 pixels
display, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon
200 processor and 5-megapixel
