In the lead up to Google I/O there were sporadic rumors about a Nexus 7 refresh. Long story short, that never happened, but that does not mean it will not happen. In fact, now an Asus representative has unwittingly revealed the specs of the next generation Nexus 7 on the Asus support page and the reader posted screenshots of the conversation on Google+. This was spotted by GSM Arena.
It turns out someone enquired about the specs of the tablet and an Asus representative basically revealed it all. Reportedly, the tablet has a scheduled launch for the end of July and will be have a Snapdragon 600 quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, and will have a 7-inch 1080p display.
Additionally, it will have 32GB of internal memory, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 1.2-megapixel front facing camera, a 4,000-mAh battery, and it will even have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE and NFC. Notably, it will be powered by Android 4.3.
Even though it might be coming from an Asus support rep, we would suggest taking these with the proverbial pinch of salt. After all, there’s nothing official about it till the company announces it.
