Nokia is hosting an event in NYC tentatively on September 26, where it is expected to launch a tablet. And if a Chinese site is to be believed. it would be this thin red tablet running on Verizon’s 4G LTE network. The site claims that the tablet would run on Windows RT and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 chipset.
While not much is known about the tablet, earlier rumors would suggest we are looking at a 10.1-inch display and LTE connectivity, which would explain the Qualcomm silicon inside rather than Nvidia’s, which was the case in a canned tablet that was leaked recently. An unknown Nokia tablet running Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset was also spotted recently, which could point to this tablet.
Meanwhile, The Verge is confirming that Nokia will indeed launch a Windows RT tablet at the event. It seems a little strange why Nokia would still go ahead and launch a Windows RT tablet considering Microsoft’s own Surface tablet running Windows RT flopped in the market and other seasoned Windows players have decided to stay away from the crippled RT version.
