Samsung today announced that its Galaxy Gear smartwatch will be compatible with six Galaxy smartphones in India by the end of this month. At the time of launch, the Galaxy Gear was only compatible with the Galaxy Note 3. Samsung released a software update that made it compatible with Galaxy Gear.
Later this month, Samsung says it will roll out updates for the Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy S4 Zoom that will make the Galaxy Gear compatible. Samsung has not revealed specific dates when the updates would be rolled out in India and only mentions it will be available in November. The Galaxy Gear is only compatible with select Samsung smartphones and cannot be used with smartphones from other brands.
