Xolo Q500 has been launched across India for Rs 7,999. With a 4-inch WVGA (800×400 pixels) display and a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 SoC paired with Adreno 203 GPU and 1GB of RAM,
the smartphone offers a good set of specs at a low cost.
Other features included are a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, VGA front camera, 4GB of internal memory that can be expanded using a microSD card and a 1,450mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for 9.7 hours of talktime and 322 hours on standby mode.
Connectivity options include 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. On the software front, the Q500 runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and comes pre-loaded with an exclusive app called X-TransPic. What this app essentially does is translate any Hindi text on signboards or pictures or messages to English. In terms of competition, it will be up against the likes of the Spice Coolpad 2 Mi-496 among others.
