Google today announced that the users will soon be able to take data backups of the Gmail and Calendar. Users will be able to get a copy of their data by signing into their account on Google’s data download page, and then clicking on ‘create an archive’ option. This will navigate the user to another page which comes with option to download (create archive) either all of their mails and calendars or select from a subset of labels and calendars. Users can also chose to download a single archive file for multiple products including Gmail, Calendar, Google+, YouTube, Drive, and other services data.
Users can download an archive of their Google Calendar data starting from today itself, however Google will roll out the Gmail backup capability over the next month.
