HTC announces Desire 601 and Desire 300 ahead of IFA

Right ahead of IFA trade show, HTC has unveiled two new smartphones named the Desire 601 and Desire 300, under its mid-range Desire series. Besides that the company has also announced its earlier rumored blue variant of the HTC One and One mini, a new accessory named as BoomBass to work with HTC BoomSound.

The Desire 601 seems inspired from the company’s previously launched One, and includes a 4.5-inch qHD display along with a polycarbonate frame. The phone will be 9.88mm thick and will weigh 140g. It will run on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and will pack in Qulacomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core chipset ticking at 1.4 GHz with 1GB of RAM. Other features will include 8GB of internal memory coupled with up to 64GB external storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording, a VGA-front camera, stereo front-facing speakers, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, AGPS, and offers sensors like accelerometer, proximity sensor and mmbient light sensor. Besides this the phone will also come with HTC patented features like HTC Blinkfeed, BoomSound for audio, Connect and more. It will house a 2100mAh battery with up to 12.8 hours for 3G.

The Desire 300, on the other hand, will measure 10.12mm thick and weigh 120 grams. The mid-ranger will come with a 4.3-inch WVGA display, and run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The hardware of the phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset with dual-core at 1GHz clock speed, and offer 512MB of RAM. Additionally, there will be 4GB of internal storage, up to 64GB of external storage, 5-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and F2.8 aperture, and capability of WVGA video recording, a VGA front camera, 1650mAh battery with up to 11 hours of talktime on 3G, connectivity support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, AGPS, and offers sensors like accelerometer, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor. Like the Desire 601, it will also come with Binkfeed and other such additional features.
